Found Object Assemblage

Making Worlds with the Material Around Us

Since high school, Keith has created intricate sculptures with toys and other found object materials. Without buying any materials, Keith juxtaposes items from his childhood and discarded debris. He has shown these artworks in five solo shows beginning in 2007 and has produced a number of commissioned work.

Since 2012, Keith has worked with found beach trash and leftover construction materials to assemble sculptures as microcosms of his hometown of Miami Beach. These pieces have developed into the Tide Castle project, an imaginative beachfront breakwater that seeks to explore the reasons and responses for two of Miami's most pressing environmental challenges: plastic pollution and sea level rise.
